Why do sites have to be so hard to sign up for?

I'm tired of internet sites being so hard to sign up for.

All I wanted to do was comment on a blog to enter into a contest to win tix and I had to spend like 30mins
creating an account for the site and then it still wouldn't let me access it as my password was supposedly wrong.
How can my password be wrong when I just created it.  Like I'm gonna forget that fast.
I just wish that things would get easier instead of more complicated.
